Ladies County Games

Double Rink

The first round  was played against Witterings.

Home Team - April MItchell, Jackie Jones, Anne Tongeman and Denise Latter won 22 - 8

Away Team - Sue Dyball, Maz Howe, Pamela Keene & Maria Hall won 13 - 12 

Winning 35 - 20 the girls are through to the next round which was against  Middleton.

Home Team - April, Jackie, Anne & Denise won 26 - 6

Away Team - Sue, Maz, Des Horn & Pamela lost 8 - 31.

Although overall only 3 shots in it Maltravers are out of the Double Rink for this year!

 

Gladys Rowland Trophy

Maria Hall, Pamela Keene, Maz Howe & Denise Latter played in the first round of this Competiton at home against 4 from Horsham. After a good nip and tuck game the four from Maltravers succeeded in winning this 18 - 17.

Next round will be away to Seaford, playing on Tuesday 16th July 1000 lost 16 - 19

Champion of Champions

Denise Latter our ladies Champion played her first round at home against the Crablands Champion and won 21 -14.

Her next round was away to East Preston, unfortunately losing this game 13 - 21

4 wood Singles

All 3 of our contestants had a bye in the first round -

Pamela Keene played at home in her round to a lady from Petworth ... lost 12 - 21

Maz Howe travelled to Worthing Pavilion for her round  but lost 5 - 21

Denise Latter  then had a walkover, so she is through to the third round where she played away to Witterings but lost 15 - 21

 

County Pairs

Second Round as below (all had a bye in the first round)

Anne Tongeman & Denise Latter played  at Norfolk BC.. .. lost 13 - 14

Jackie Jones & Sue Dyball travelled to Crablands but lost 6 - 21

Maz Howe & April Mitchell played their match away at Worthing Pavilion on Monday 10th June and lost 3 - 18

 

Unbadged Trixie Pairs

Sue Dyball & Pamela Keene entered this competition this season and succeeded in winning the first round, at home  against 2 from  17 - 11

Next round saw them playing at home again, against Witterings and after a good tight game won 16  -  156

They then went on to play 2 at Seaford.

Unfortunately although they had a good start they ended up 11 - 16 down.

But well done to Sue and Pamela for getting that far 👏 

 

Maltravers Ladies entered 3 teams into the County Triples this season.

First Round Played on Friday 10th May

Pamela Keene, April Mitchell & Jackie Jones were drawn away to Witterings - unfortunately they lost 7 - 19.

Lesley Ball, Anne Tongeman & Sue Dyball were drawn at home to a team from Crablands, which also resulted in a loss of 9 -13.

Maria Hall, Maz Howe & Denise Latter played at home against 3 from Worthing Pavilion and succeeded to win, after a very nip & tuck game, 16 shots to 12.

They played East Preston, in the next round but lost 13 - 20.

 

County Fours - first round played on Monday 13th May at Maltravers against Horsham -  April Mitchell, Maz Howe, Lesley Ball and Maria Hall had a good game against the 4 from Horsham but lost after drawing back 14 - 16 on the 17th end and dropping 3 on the last end, final score was 14 - 19 to Horsham.

 

Senior Fours

Denise Latter, Anne Tongeman, Beverley Bridge & Pamela Keene  entered this competition and they were drawn away to Crablands in the first round. Despite playing well they unfortunately lost 10 - 17.

 

In the Top Club this year Maltravers were drawn away to The Drive in Hove.

This game was played on Saturday 18th May - but the artificial surface did not work out in Maltravers favour.

Singles - Denise Latter narrowly missed out on winning her game - 17 - 21

Pairs - Jackie Jones & Pamela Keene lost 9 - 21

Triples - Sue Dyball, Maz Howe & Wendy Squires lost 7 - 30

Fours - Anne Tongeman, Beverley Bridge, Des Horn & Lesley Ball lost 6 - 27

Losing out on all 4 disciplines means that we are out of the Top Club for 2024
