SPOON DRIVE 2023
Second Spoon Drive was held on BH Mon 28th August with a good turn up of 32 members and dry weather
3 games of 6 ends were played, on different rinks against different teams.8 teams of rinks
Results in reverse order, winners being given a bottle of wine each and the lowest scoring team a bar of chocolate, after a small tea.
8th place - Mike Sherwood, Steve Ball, Carolyn Ward-Borg & Linda May; deficit of -21 (8 - 29)
7th place: Keith Holden, Anne Tongeman, Janet Denyer & John Larner - deficit of -15 (10 - 25)
6th place: Jean Sheldon, Des Horn, Terry Bolton & Doug Streeter - defcit of -11 (13 - 24)
5th place - April MItchell, Keith Croombs, Chris Lobb & Maria Hall: deficit of -5 (13 - 18)
4th place- Tony Marks, Ernie Deverson, Tessa Larner & Chris Silverson: + 3 (17 - 4)
3rd place: Denise Latter, Brian Denyer, Lesley Ball & Dave Robinson: +12 (26 - 14)
2nd place; Polo, Beverley Bridge, Paul Ground & Wendy Squires: +14 (23 - 9)
1st place: Roger May, Sue Dyball, Pam Keene & Roger May: +25 (31 - 6)
The First Spoon Drive of the Season was held on B H Monday 8th May.
We were very lucky with the weather - dull, overcast but no rain!!!
3 games of 5 ends on each were played with 6 teams of triples.
Top Team won a bottle of wine each and the bottom team a bar of chocolate.
Results in reverse order were:
6th - Alan Howe, Mike Sherwood and Lesley Ball lost with a deficit of - 10 shots and winning only 5 ends. (7 - 17)
5th - Matt Thain, Sue Dyball and John Hoare with a deficit of - 10 shots, winning 6 ends (8 - 18)
4th - April Mitchell, Des Horn and Alex Stavrou, drawing even on shots, (9 - 9)
3rd - Terry Carline, Jean Sheldon and Ernie Deverson - + 2 shots, (16 - 14)
2nd - Jack Carline, Keith Holden and Tony Marks - + 8 shots (19 - 11)
1st - Denise Latter, Polo and Chris Silverson - + 9 shots (18 - 9)
The afternoon was finished off with Cake and Tea
