Ladies Matches

 

 

 

 

 

Double Rink 

First Round played against Horsham on 1st July.

Home team consisting of  Denise Latter, Anne Tongeman, Janet Denyer and April Mitchell drew 20 shots each.

Away team Judy Hearn, Des Horn, Maz Howe & Sue Dyball lost 14 shots to 22.

Overall loss of 34 shots to 42.

 

 

 

 

TRIXIE PAIRS

Sue Dyball and Maz Howe travelled to Crablands for the prelimary round of the Trixie Pairs on  Friday 14th May.

Good exciting game where it could have gone either way - they won on the last end by 18 shots to 17.

Next round will be at home against another team from Crablands on Sunday 6th June 1000.

After a struggle to get started going 1 - 6 down in 5 ends Sue and Maz finally struck "gold" with a lucky 5 shots on end 7 and won after 18 ends - score 18 - 12.

Next round will be at home, against 2 ladies from Worthing Pavilion - Friday 18th 1000. - postponed Monday 21st June 1800. Again postponed until Tuesday 22nd June due to weather conditions. Played on this day with a win of 16 shots to 15.

Next round on Sunday 27th at home against  Bognor. Lost 13 - 16

GLADYS ROWLAND

Team 1 Sue Dyball, Maz Howe, Des Horn & Judy Hearn were supposed to be playing Burgess Hill in the first round but unfortunately BH have had to pull out due to lack of support.

Team 1  played at  Steyning in the next round on Wednesday 23rd June - won  24 - 11.

Next round was against Downsman. - played on Sun 18th July - After fighting off flying ants and seagulls as well as their opponents they managed to secure a place in the quarter finals by winning 19 shots to 14 over 21 ends.

 

 

Team 2 - April Mitchell, Janet Denyer, Anne Tongeman and Jean Sheldon  played Lancing on 21st May at home on a very blustery afternoon with winds reaching over  50 mph. The rain, luckily held off until the match was finished.

It was supposed to play over 21 ends but after 16 the Lancing ladies conceded -,final result was 22 shots to 9.

Well done ladies!

Next Round was played on Sunday June 6th at home against Uckfield - unfortunately lost - 20 - 22 on the last end.

 

County Singles

Denise Latter played at home on 20th May against Jean Meneely from Goring Manor on a windy afternoon - 21 ends were played with Denise winning 12 of them and overall winning 21 shots to 12 - Denise will be playing away to a lady from East Preston on Monday 24th May

Maz Howe also played at home on the same day against Pat Vinten from Arundel - a much tighter game with 20 shots each on the 27th end - Maz then managed to clinch the winning shot overall score 21 - 20. Likewise she will be playing away on the same day to another lady from Crablands. Lost.

 

County Pairs

Denise Latter and Anne Tongeman played two from Crablands, again in a tight game - on the 17th end it was a draw at 

 all. Unfortunately on the last end they dropped  4 shots , so lost 16 shots to 20, but  a good game to watch!

County Ladies Triples

Denise Latter, Maz Howe and Anne Tongeman  travelled to Crablands for the first round of this a good win of 21 - 9.

Back down to Crablands for the second round on Thursday  10th - loss of 29 shots to 5

 

County Seniors Fours

This match was supposed to be played at Burgess Hill on 29th June but due to weather conditions BH could not hold so the ladies came to Maltravers and after a close game managed to secure a win against Denise Latter, April Mitchell, Anne Tongeman and Maz Howe, of 15 shots to 17.

This concludes Maltravers  Ladies run in the County Games this year
