First Round Results playing at home against Marine Gardens Monday 28th June 1800.

Terry Carline, Rob Baker & Brian Denyer 23 - 12

Jack Carline, Alex Stavrou & Geoff Gair 19 - 13

Arthur, Roger May and Polo:24 - 11

Top Rink: Alan Howe, Matt Thain and John Hoare: 29 - 5

Win with an overall score of 95 shots to 41

Next Round was against Pulborough, at home, on Saturday 17th July 1400.

Skip Terry Carline, with Charlie McGowan and John Hoare, being 15 - 16 down on the  last end  managed to grab 2 shots on the last end to win 17 shots to 16 - the only winning rink.

With an overall score of 52 shots to 86, Maltravers bow out of the PC Cup.

Abergavenney

First Round - 9th June - Bob Read, Terry Carline, Tony Marks & Jack Carline travelled to MIdhurst for the away side but lost by 13 shots to 19. Home team consisting of Alan Howe, George Gatford, Mike Sherwood  and Alex Stavrou managed to achieve a win of 17 shots to 9, thus winning overall 30 shots to  28.

Second Round - Wednesday 16th June against Fishbourne. Home team Alan Howe, Alex Stavrou, Mike Sherwood and Geoff Gair won 15 - 6, Away team Bob Read, Terry Carline, Jack Carline and Tony Marks won 17 - 9 - Overall score 32 - 15

Next round on Wednesday 23rd June against Worthing Pavilion - Home team - Alan Howe, George Gatford, Mike Sherwood and Alex Stavrou lost 9 shots to 11. Away Team - Bob Read, Jack Carline , Tony Skinner & Tony Marks  won 15 - 9 - Overall Win  24 shots to 20.

Next round was against Norfolk on  Wednesday 30th June 1800. Alan, George, Mike and Alex won 21 -7. Terry, Bob, Jack and Tony lost 8 shots to 18 but with an overall score of 29 shots to 25

Maltravers go through to the quarter Finals against West Hoathly from Division 2, playing on Wednesday 7th July 1800.

 

 

Champion of Champions -

Alex Stavrou played first round on Wednesday 11th May against Keith Brinsmead from Tarring Priory.

A good win  21 shots to 15 sees him through to the second round. Well done Alex.

Next Round will be away to I. Younger from  Pulborough.- 4/6/2021 - Lost 8 - 21

 

DIVISION 4 SINGLES

Terry Carline  played his single match away, on 25th May 1800 against T Bushell from Pulborough. - Won 21 - 11

Well done  Terry!!

 Next Round will be at home against R Maton from Worthing on 1st June 1800.

A good game but unfortunately Terry lost 15 - 21

DIVISION 4 UNBADGES SINGLES

Alex Stavrou at home to M. Meadows from Tarring on Wednesday 19th May 1800 - Another good win for Alex : 21 - 12

Next Round Alex was away to Tarring on 26th May 1800  - won 21 - 13

Next Round away to Pulborough Wed 2nd June 1800. - lost 17 - 21

Alan Howe played away to K. Batchelor  at Worthing Pavilion on Wednesday 19th May 1800.

A good nip and tuck game with a win for Alan :21 - 19.

Next round Alan played at Home to Frances Fahey from Goring Manor,  on Tuesday 25th May 1000. Alan got the first shot and then trailed for most of the game. On the 22nd end he picked up 4 shots to bring the game to a draw. Final end Alan drew in nicely to clinch the match 21 - 19

Next game on Wed 2nd June Alan travelled to Storrington for 1800 start - lost 19 - 21

 

DIVISION 4 PAIRS

First Round: On Thursday 20th May 1800:

Alan Howe & George Gatford away to Witterings - lost 24 - 6.

Mike Sherwood & Charlie McGowan away to Tarring - lost 15 - 19

Terry Carline & Alex Stavrou away to Tarring - won 23 - 17

Second Round: Thursday 27th May 1800

Terry Carline and Alex Stavrou played at  home against A Vidler & T.Baldwin from Worthing Pavilion with a great  win of 17 shots to 15.

Bob Read & Jack Carline had a Bye in First Round, also played at home against Father & son Team Davey , also from Worthing Pavilion - another close game with the Maltravers pair winning 17 - 16.

Third Round: Thursday 3rd June 1800

Terry & Alex at home against Chichester ... won 17 - 12

Bob & Jack away to Worthing Pavilion who conceded after 14 ends as they were 16 behind - Bob and Jack won 22 -6

Fourth Round: Thursday 10th June

Terry & Alex played at home against 2 from Middleton - Won 26 - 5

Bob & Jack played at hone against 2 from Petworth - Lost 7 - 23

Terry & Alex go through to the Area Finals to be played on 24th June, at home against  Chichester.

Unfortunately Terry will be away for this match, due to previous commitments, so Geoff Gair stepped into his shoes and between Alex and Geoff a great match was played with our Guys winning overall by 1 shot - 19 shots to 18.

Next round was in the quarter finals, played at Horsham against a  team from Lewes. Great run for the lads but unfortunately they lost 9 shots to 17.

 

 

MEN'S TRIPLES

Mike Sherwood, Charlie McGowan and Tony Marks  played a preliminary round at home to Pagham on  Mon 17th May, 1800.

Great game which was nip and tuck all the way through.

An extra end was required to determine the winners - which this trio achieved by 1 shot - winning 14 shots to 13. Well done Guys

Next Round was at home again against Middleton on Monday 24th May 1800 - lost 8 - 15

Bob Read, Jack Carline and Terry Carline  played  first round against Worthing Pavilion on  Mon 24th May at 1800.

Lost 17 - 18

Alan Howe, Alex Stavrou & George Gatford played  first round away to Arundel on Monday 24th May 1800.

Win 18 shots to 14.

Next Round was at home against Tarring Priory on 7th June 1800  - Unfortunately a loss here of 13 shots to 21.

SENIOR FOURS

Alan Howe, Bob Read, George Gatford & Brian Denyer played at home on Sunday 23rd May 1400 against Pagham.

Another close game with the visitors winning 15 shots to 13

DIV 4 FOURS

Alan Howe, George Gatford, Alex Stavrou & Mike Sherwood played away at Pulborough on 28th May 1800 = won 15 -11

Bob Read, Jack Carline, Terry Carline & Tony Marks were playing at home against Tarring on 28th May 1800 - won 21 - 6

Great Start - well done lads and good luck in the next  round on 11th June 1800

Alan and team were at  home against another team from Tarring - won 12 shots to 9

Bob and team were away to Bognor. - won 16 - 14
