Cllr Lynda Hicks

I have lived in Mousetrap Lane in Bourton since 1988 and before in Lower Slaughter where I was born in 1958. I attended the local school, then known as Bourton Vale Secondary Modern. Prior to moving to Bourton, I served on Lower Slaughter Parish Council and chaired it for two years before getting married and starting a family. I am married to Mike and have two children, James and Anna, who have both flown the nest.

I'm very concerned about the lack of affordable housing in the village and surrounding area. I believe to keep the village alive we need to make sure those who want to stay, work and raise their own families should be able to.

I feel very privileged to live in such a beautiful part of the UK and fully understand why so many people want to visit and enjoy our lovely village; I also recognise that there is a great need to protect what we have.

I served as Vice Chairman of the Council from May 2021 to May 2022 and again from May 2023. I currently chair the Youth & Well-being Committee and I'm Vice Chair for Planning. I also sit on three other committees: Village Environment, Community Centre and Personnel.
