Update 28th March 2020:

Opening times have changed:

Closed on Sunday and Monday

I am sure that you will all agree that Marilyn at the Farm shop is doing a superb job and providing the village with an excellent service during these challenging times.

We need to protect Marilyn and other people working in the shop. If they become ill, we will lose the shop. In order to do this please:

  • There should be no more than two people in the shop at any one time.
  • Please keep a distance of at least 2 to 3m at all times
  • Wash hand before you visit the shop and afterwards

The medical advice is simple – These simple steps may well prevent infections and save lives.

Update 25th March 2020:

I am sure that you will all agree that Marilyn at the Farm shop is doing a superb job and providing the village with an excellent service during these challenging times.

Reeves the Baker is closing is shops but will be making bulk deliveries to ‘hubs’ such as the Farm shop. They cannot handle individual and specific orders but are providing a number of order ‘options’. More details about this to follow in the next day or two.

We are keen to minimise the risk posed to Marilyn and anybody working in the shop and we can do this by reducing the number of people who spend time in the shop.  As Marilyn is very busy these days, she needs our help and cooperation in order to cope with the additional demand and keep safe.

In order to do this, we have developed a plan for the Farm shop to receive orders in advance so that they can either be collected or delivered. The plan is as follows:

  • The shop will prepare boxes or bags for delivery every Tuesday and Friday afternoon.
  • Farm shop orders for delivery on Tuesday need to be submitted by 1300 on the Monday – By Thursday 1300 for the Friday delivery.
  • Details about bread orders to follow shortly but may well be combined.
  • Please see the attached order form – Please consider this as a ‘Shopping Wish-List’ as the Farm shop may not be able to provide everything listed. Do ask for any food items not listed such as meat cuts and Marilyn will try to oblige.
  • If you can, please complete the form and E mail to a new E mail address: farmshopC19@berwickstjames.org.uk – We will print these off to be processed at the shop.
  •  If you cannot submit your 'wish list’ by  E mail , Carolyn has kindly agreed to take phone orders - She will take orders on their landline from Mon-sat at the following time. Please DO NOT leave answerphone messages – just try again a bit later. Tel – 01722 762 761

                                           09.00 to 10.00

                                           13.00 to 14.00

                                           15.00 to 17.00

  • Reeves bread orders will be added to the supplies that Marilyn in providing if possible.

Payment – Marilyn call you once she has compiled the order and will take card payment over the phone.  Please do not come to the shop until you are informed that your order is ready.

This service and arrangement is only for people who live in the village – Please do not forward this E mail to people outside the village. Details will be placed on the village facebook page which is closed to Berwick Residents.

Do contact me should you have any questions. The arrangement are bound to take a while to work well and we may well have to tweak things to make it all work well. You help and understanding is most appreciated.

Many thanks

Christian
