In line with Government guidance, the village playground equipment is once again available for general use.

Parents are reminded, however, that the risk of transmission of Covid-19 through contact with contaminated surfaces still remains. Therefore, please try to adhere to current Government guidance regarding hygiene and social distancing. In particular, the consumption of food or drink on or in the immediate vicinity of play equipment is not allowed.

The water fountain remains turned off at present, but we’ll keep this under review.

Although we have cleaned and disinfected the main metal components of the play equipment as of 11.00 am Saturday 4th July, the Playground Committee do not feel that repeating this exercise will have any real mitigating effect on the level of risk, mainly because we simply could not do it frequently enough.

The onus therefore lies with parents to ensure that their children stick to the guidelines and as a minimum, wash or sanitise their hands both before and after using the equipment. We must stress that all users of this equipment do so at their own risk and notices have been posted at both entrances to the park to this effect.

Thank you for your co-operation and stay safe!
