SDNP Parish Priorities Statement
PARISH PRIORITIES STATEMENT (PPS) – an opportunity to consider the future of the village
As reported at the Warnford Parish Meeting AGM on 25th May 2023, the South Downs National Park Authority (SDNPA) is reviewing its Local Plan and as part of that is inviting parishes to contribute by completing a PPS.
The PPS is a short document, divided into eight sections, with responses to the individual points limited to 100 words. It gives parishes the opportunity to consider what their priorities are and how they would like to see their parish a few years down the line as regards eg protection of areas of local character, development/housing, the natural environment. Although the PPS will not be binding on the local planners, they should have persuasive value.
Below you will find the SDNPA document headed ‘Parish Priorities Statement’, the first page sets out the background and afterwards you will find the eight sections for which responses are sought.
I do urge all in Warnford to consider the PPS and let me know your views on whether Warnford should submit one and, if so, let me have your suggestions for responses to some or all of the points raised in the form. Please do as few or as many as you wish.
You can give me your views by email at chairman@warnfordparish.co.uk or phone (07712 868858) or in person.
So that there is an opportunity to discuss views, I shall hold a drop in session at the Village Hall at 7.30pm on Tuesday, 8th August 2023 when any parishioner can come along and talk about the PPS.
I shall be at the church fete on 2nd September and will be happy to discuss the PPSs then.
Depending on the feedback I may convene a special Parish Meeting solely to discuss the PPS.
The deadline for submitting the PPS is 20th October, so please ensure that you let me have your views by 8th September.
I look forward to hearing your views.
