High Court Challenge

The Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) banning motor vehicles on Bosenhill Lane, Green Lane and Dark Lane came into effect on 1st June. The Trail Riders Federation is now challenging it in the High Court. Hampshire County Council intends to defend the case. However until the case is heard the Order remains in effect and anybody driving a motor vehicle on these routes is committing an offence.

Whilst the TRO seems to have had some effect at the Lippen Lane end of Bosenhill Lane, it hasn’t stopped the hard core of illegal users in the remoter area between Bere Farm and Brockwood.. The prohibition signs on Riversdown Road and Brockwood Bottom were torn down within a fortnight of being put up. Trail bikes and 4x4s are regularly making the circuit round Green Lane and Dark Lane and the ruts and mud in Dark Lane are continuing to deepen. A camera erected to capture evidence has been deliberately smashed.

Reporting

Now the TRO is being challenged, it is more important than ever that we report illegal use to Hampshire County Council and the police. If you see a motor vehicle being driven on the lanes, you can report it to the police on 101. Also please report it to the Parish on warnfordrow@gmail.com. We are putting together a dossier which will help defend the challenge in the High Court.
