Southampton – London Pipeline Project

This project aims to renew the Fawley to Heathrow fuel pipeline, which crosses a corner of Warnford Parish from Lomer Farm to Blackhouse Farm (see previous news item for details). The project has now received Development Consent from the Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy and will go ahead unless there is a valid legal challenge, which has to be started in the next six weeks. The next step is for the project to publish its construction plans, which will be of local interest because they will involve the creation of access ways for trench digging and pipe laying and the temporary closure of roads and footpaths. Construction was originally planned to start in 2021, but it isn’t yet clear whether this will be adhered to.
